Mainly metal for me, pretty much all kinds of genres except norwegian black metal etc. Favourite bands atm are: Meshuggah, Lamb of God, Straight Line Stitch, Soilwork, Killswitch Engage, Machine Head and many more.
Here is music video from Meshuggah which i go see in 2 weeks when they come here for a gig:
I listened to alot of metal in the 90's (kind of moved onto trippy but i still have a soft spot for metal & grunge) Machinehead are one of my fav metal bands "Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast!" xD I also listened to alot of early metallica megadeath anthrax etc but by the mid nighties i was listing to stuff like Ozrics, so kinda lost touch with nu-metal and all the new sub-cultures of metal. Math-metal WTF?! haha
Indeed, can't keep up with these metal sub-cultures anymore, i just listen what sounds good. I was like 12 when my sister bought Metallica "Black"- album and it sounded good so that's when my road to metal started. After that i moved to these nu-metal bands like Linkin Park, Korn and Limp Bizkit and after those i started to like these bands that sounded "harder". Nowadays i've also started to take notice on technical part of playing among how it sounds to my ear, while i'm no musician myself but i can say that these metal guys can play! And what goes for Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC and all those pioneers of metal, love to listen them always while they are not on my playlist atm.
Bit old now, but it's been dusted off for a TV commercial and i can't remove it from my head once again. And apart from Ireland and Nottingham, it probably went rather unnoticed by the rest of the world, which is a pity, the world clearly lacking more football-mad punk bands:
